Care Your Skin at Home

Want to keep your skin looking smooth and soft? All you need are a few minutes in the morning and at night.

First, know who your skin's enemies are: stress, sun, unhealthy eating habits, pollution, tobacco and alcohol. Your skin's friends are cleansing, exfoliation, moisturizing and solar protection.

Start eating fruits, vegetables, eggs and meat. It is important to include protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats, like olive oil. And a diet where you only eat vegetables will give you pale and flaccid skin.

Protect your skin from stress and sun. Stress will increase androgen, a male hormone, which gives you pimples and impurities. Your skin keeps in its memory all of the sun you have taken in your life. More than 80 percent of wrinkles are the result of photo aging.

Cleanse your face before wearing your makeup or any other product. Most important, pay special attention to your forehead and the area around your nostrils.

Use an exfoliant twice a week. Exfoliants do away with dead cells and eliminate the grey tones of the skin. After you exfoliate, apply a refreshing and nutritious face mask, as your skin will be more receptive.

Moisturize your skin after cleansing your face. When applying your moisturizer, pay special attention to the areas around your eyes and lips.

Use a makeup base. It will help correct your skin tone and will surround it with a healthy glow.
